Tell me a little about yourself:
John: I played Rugby all 4 ½ years of college despite breaking my nose in my first game–my mother was not thrilled. I was named to USA Rugby’s Collegiate Academic Honor Roll in 2012. My summer plan includes relaxing in my beautiful backyard with the exception of attending the occasional music festival.
What type of insurance do you work with on a daily basis?
John: I work with all aspects of Commercial Insurance, whether it be Group Health Insurance, Business Owner Policies, General Liability Policies, etc.
I have licenses for Life, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty.
Favorite part of your job?
John: The unique challenges every day brings, no two days are the same.
What type of insurance do you think every person needs?
John: A Health Insurance Policy. Even if you only purchase a Catastrophic Plan, it will still set a maximum out-of-pocket limit for what you can spend on necessary health expenses over the course of a year. The maximum out-of-pocket limit will protect you in the event of any unexpected accidents or illnesses.
What question do you get asked the most from your clients?
John: Do I have the best coverage possible for the cost of my policy? While we can’t lower an individual’s premium every time this gets asked, Hometown’s role as an Independent Agent is to review your existing coverage and make sure the policy matches your needs and also shop the market for you. We have several companies we work with and try our best to ensure all of our clients get the best value for their policy.
What is one thing everyone should know about their insurance?
John: The exclusions of their policy. Everyone should always read the Exclusions section of their insurance policy carefully to make sure they understand what is NOT covered by their policy. What is not covered by a policy can be just as important as what is covered. Make sure you know both!
